I started to get excited about what kind of experience I had fallen into, would I start hallucinating? Is this actually poison and will it be the perfect cult classic Jim Jones murder? After a few oms we held our glasses up together and were told to slowly sip this magical cacao potion, tasting every single molecule in our mouth.
While sitting on my flight to Sydney, trapped in the middle aisle seat on a 13-hour flight, I had a lot to think about.
The memories associated with this time of year overwhelm and engulf, forcing me somewhere I worked hard to get away from.
1. Be impeccable with your word.
2. Don’t take anything personally.
3. Don’t make assumptions.
4. Always do your best.
“If you know someone who has lost a very important person in their life, and you’re afraid to mention it because you think it might make the person sad by reminding them of someone who died- you’re not reminding them; they didn’t forget. I always associated these conversations to late night cocktail parties I was forced to go to as a kid while my parents socialised.
It was one of those surreal moments when you realize you are in a cave, high on hash, smoking with Babas, somewhere in North India.
Komodo Island sounds like something out of Jurassic Park. The thought of walking silently on an island filled with man-eating dragons, holding only a trident as a weapon, evokes a scene in Indiana Jones.
To me, Indonesia was as wild as wild gets. I pictured volcanoes erupting everywhere, luscious jungles with bursting waterfalls and prehistoric dragons killing locals on the regular.
