In a field of dandelions

This impromptu photoshoot was taken on a beautiful summer’s day in Ottawa. Behind our house, past the backyard, lies a huge open field we take our dog, Sabre, for walks.

On this day she looked beautiful in her favorite white skirt. I told her I wanted a picture with her and Sabre in the field. I’d figured she would stand or kneel because if she sat down she could get mud on her skirt. She immediately laid down in the dandelions and pulled Sabre in beside her. She curled her hands under her chin and waited as I took this picture.

I’m so grateful for this photo.

She was so happy at this moment.
